How many times does it happen? I try to post something and nothing comes in mind. Technologies are still slower than human mind something is required who can note down everything that goes in mind, that every single thought - creative or destructive. Real time you know?
Late night and if you are really tired of working, especially when your hard disk is crashed, something that can relax you is music. Who can be better than A.R.Rahman in such times? I just plugged in my new Sony AINO and a song from Delhi 6 - Arziyaan (Plea). You just go devotional if this music flows in your head. It's music only makes me feel nearer to God. Remember "He Ram, He Ram.." from Jagjit Singh? This chant is one of such beautiful. Who does care about religion whether it's Ram or Maula?
Just take few lines of this song and you can feel the beauty of lyrics (written by Prasoon Joshi)-
Tumse kya mangu mein tum khud hi samjah lo"
Prasoon Joshi is from Almora, Uttarakhand, basically a Hindu and I wonder how come he comes out with thoughts of Maula. How devotionally does he know Ibbadat! To be a poet is to be a thinker, an imaginer. How come a Hindu imagine about Ibbadat of a Muslim and that too so devotionally! He writes he does not need to speak to god, to give words to his prayers. His face says everything and God (Say Maula) understands everything from it! He speaks like OSHO and we? We go on making noise of prayers and think God never listens to us.
"Dararein dararein Bandhein pe maula
Maramat mukdar ki kar do maula
Mere Maula
Tere Dar pe Jhuka hoon Meeta hoon bana hoon
Marammat mukdar ki kar do maula"
He writes there are lot of ambiguities and miseries (Dararein) in life. Fate asks a lot. He did his best to come out from it but in vain. Now he wants Maula to rebuilt his fate. He keeps chanting - "Tere Dar pe Jhuka hoon Meeta hoon bana hoon". He has surrendered himself to Maula. A complete surrender! No demands no complaints! He asked Maula to paint his painting (life). He even knows Maula may not show him the success that easily so he says - "meeta haan" and then quickly adds "bana haan". That shows he is not worried of failing if that's the only thing Mauls wants and that courage eventually leads him to glory.
"Jo bhi tere dar aaya
Juhkne jo sar aaya
Mastiyan piye sabko
Jhoomta nazar aaya
Pyaas le ke aaya
Dariya woh bhar laya
Noor ki barish mein beeghta sa tar aaya
Noor ki barish mein beeghta sa tar aaya"
He could be like any other human being. He does not feel God untill someone else is being taken care of by him. He has seen dramatic change in others life when they started loving (not following) the undefined-infinite-most powerful existence i.e. God. He can see people dancing in joy of realising the existence of God - "Jhoomta nazar aaya". He realised people are flooded with the kindness of that extreme power.
Urdu is as beautiful as Hindi. Listen Muslims pray and you can listen a great sense of dedication. I go on listening this song till I go asleep. If you don't believe in God at least you can realise the power sails around you. Please don't judge this post on the basis of religion. Take it as a prayer and you can feel the inside beauty of it.
