तेरा क्या हाल है?

वक़्त ही हे जो चला जा रहा है!

क्या सोचा था, क्या होता जा रहा है!

मेरा तो सही न आज था, न कल है!

तू बता, तेरा क्या हाल है?

कोष ना तू खुद को 

ना कोशु में मुझे,

खेल हे ये मुक्कदर का.

सही-गलत किसे सूजे?

युहीं नहीं चमकते सितारे आसमान में,

कोई तो होगा ख्याल रखने वाला.

ये जो बचे कूचे हे पल जिंदगी के,

कुछ में तूझे याद करके जी लू,

कुछ तू मुझे याद करके बिता.

कभी फुर्सद मिले तो याद भी कर लिया कर.

हे नहीं रिश्ता तो क्या गम,

दो घडी तेरा साथ ही मिल जायेगा.

तुजे कुछ विराम,

तो मुझे कुछ शुकुन मिल जायेगा.

एक बेचैनी लगी रहती है इस दिल को,

सोचता रहता हे की तेरा क्या हाल है?

Persistence

Cannot believe what just happened,
I met a man who looks just like me.
He had a sprint in his walk,
confidence in his look and a smile on the face.
People kept looking at him
like I did
as if he was the center of the attraction.

Is that the first time I saw him?
Oh well, I remember now, not really.
He kept whispering advice
every time I made things messy.
He is the one that people expect me to become - just like him.
Certainly, they know better than me,
about how I should become,
especially when I find the chances are slim.

Yes, he is just a better version of me.
A potential that exists as an idea
but vanishes in real.
I have impersonated into him
at times, now all I need is persistence.
